I have also used 20/w50 oil but in regards to oil filters, Bosch or even
Fram filters have worked flawlessly for me and they are much more easier for
me to get (I'm not usually at the dealer to get an 'official' VW filter).
Have had our Vanagon for just over 90,000 miles (it's at 183,000 now).
