Know exactly what you mean about those Mexican roads and Big Rigs.   While
on the trail to San Christobal a few years back (Viva la Zapatista!),
traveling behind a Big Rig over a mountain pass, when one of his rear tires
blew.  Thought for a second I was being shot out of a cannon.  It might have
been dangerous if I had been tail-gating as the flying debris was an
impressive sight.  Love the Xmas Tree Light Shows on the Besparkled Big
Rigs, but don't like there tires too good.  Trying to get solid running
before hitting the road, although driving an imperfect vehicle through an
imperfect world is a perfect possibility.
