The early EV's (up to '94 I think) were done with Westy conversions. They also used smaller engines and more trouble-prone transmissions AFAIK. In 1999 the EV went to a "panel truck" side, which removed the rear window on the driver's side. A major aesthetic boo-boo IMO. My wife and I wrestled with the idea of getting a '98 EV prior to getting our Syncro. Sitting in the EV is what caused my wife to have the epiphany that opened up the possibility of getting a VW camper in the first place. She was against the idea until she climbed up in there at the dealer's lot and had a chance to enjoy the ambience. :-) Brent Christensen '89 GL Syncro Westy "Klaus" Santa Barbara, CA ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg Morrison" <Magic1910@aol.com> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, August 01, 2000 11:32 AM Subject: Winnebago or Westfalia? > Within the past two weeks I have seen both a Eurovan Winnebago conversion and > a Eurovan Westfalia conversion.
