This is my first Vanagon; an 84, and I coaxed the AC
into life.  However it does not seem to "cycle".
Other (non VW) cars turn the compressor on and
off-expecially when idling, but my Vanagon compressor
seems to be 'on' all the time.  Is this normal
operation?
