Everyone keeps comparing the Suburu and Tiico -- but no one ever points out that they are no longer using the inline 4 in South Africa for the Vanagon. They're only using 5 cylinder engines - a 2.3 and a 2.6 which are rated at 90 and 100 kW @ r/min respectively (which I think translates in 150bhp for 100 kW @ r/min - though I'm not certain.) So if you get a four cylinder of any kind - just remember this: those guys in South Africa will be driving Vanagons with 5 cylinders when they take them off the lot of a dealership and if they drove yours they wouldn't want to trade. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
