Mark: A flue cap covers the vent after it goes through the roof. The vent is there to expedite water drainage. Watch a kid with a drinking with a straw. Kid inserts the straw into the drink, covers end of straw and extracts straw from drink. Drink is still in straw. Kid uncovers end of straw, drink pours out onto kitchen table. Kid has ventilated the drainage, expediting flow.
