Thats interesting - copper is very conductive - so I guess the distilled water is acting like an antioxidant.... and eats a hole in the copper in the process.... there's no copper in the vanagon cooling system.. right or wrong? - it comes into contact with aluminum, rubber and what else? whats the case made out of? Some guy behind a VW parts counter (not the dealer) said distilled was better for the coolant system - now I don't know what to think. >From: Jonc <jonc@webgears.com> > >distilled water knocks holes in copper pipe... in one anecdote copper pipe >had to be replace by Plastic pipe at a military base in New England because >we could not keep the copper pipe from corroding... it would leak again >within six months of replacement... distilled water at ambient >temperature.was all that there was going through that piping... _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
