I appologize in advance for such a dreadfully simple question:

I am use to using the metal key for my water tank port on my '82 Westy
Diesel.  I have recently purchased an '87 and the newer style plastic key
used to open the cover does not seem to want to turn or allow the door to
release in any way.  Am I missing something?
