   I have read the numerous positive comments about the Redline (MT-5?) gear
lube for our vanagon manual transmissions, but am having trouble finding it in
Austin, TX.  I've noticed that Mobil 1 75-90W (GL-5?) synthetic, and Valvoline
synthetic blend gear lubes are readily available.  I also happen to have a
store credit at Pep Boys.  Are they (especially  Mobil 1) that bad compared to
Redline, or do they still offer significant improvement over regular 90W gear
oil?  Please respond to me directly, as I am temporarily off the list.  Thanks
