Colin, I have a set of these struts. They were installed about two
weeks ago. There has not been any problems with them. The hatch door stays
in any position I choose and the hatch will stay open with three bikes on my
bike rack attached to the hatch door. Must be a faulty production run of
heavy duty struts or something else involved here.
Cheers
