Mark, I am sorry, this does not address your specific question very well but I wanted to offer reinforcement to your use of "orange" antifreeze. I had to provide jumper cables to a fellow in my office complex with a new Audi TT yesterday and noticed that the antifreeze in the overflow WAS ORANGE. I figured that this was a pretty close to blasphemy, but having embraced DEXCOOL several year ago, I felt vindicated. Watch my heads start leaking tomorrow... But on your original idea, this is pretty close to what I do, I force flow water for 10 - 15 minutes, crank it up and bring it to temperature, and then drain again and fill with two gallons of orange antifreeze and water. It seems to work, though I still have the "blinking red light with nothing wrong" syndrome. Making progress on a solution there, I think. I think there is solid logic behind "fresh fluids" of all types at regular intervals for extended mechanical function in vanagons and other automotive efforts, and people too, for that matter. . travel well, jim henry 84 westy Mark Ingalls wrote: > I have a new hose kit for a 85 GL.
