I know there were a few odd German Vanagons made in '92, and you can still get them in S. Africa, but for us in the US, the last model was '91. As we now enter the '01 auto season, the magic 10 year number is going to mean that many aftermarket suppliers will drop their Vanagon lines. I found next to nothing available for Vanagons on my trip to Germany last year, and one of my suppliers has dropped their Vanagon line of accessories. Just as there is little available in Europe for the baywindow buses, soon Vanagons will fall to the same fate. Of course the same thing happened with the old bugs. When they started to become popular again, the parts and accessories also became available. Give us another 10 years and the Vanagon will be the hottest collector vehicle. A couple of years ago, Paulchen dropped their Vanagon rack. Last year it became available again, but who knows for how long. If you've been dying to get that certain Vanagon part or accessory, don't wait too long.
