Simple,

1, hold headlight in hand at the height that it's going to go into the car.

2, have buddy get behind wheel and drive car to 60mph

3, have buddy aim for headlight you're holding

4, as the neon approaches, place new lamp in line with old one

5, have friend increase speed to 80 mph

6, place head lamp in car during resulting collision
