Don't feel bad... gas in Hawaii is minimum $2.00 for regular... $2.15 for
regular in Kona.  I'm surprised to hear that some places in California is as
much as here... we're usually about the same as the resort areas in the
mainland US (Aspen, etc.)  Food's about a third more expensive too... except
pineapples and papayas and so on.  Count your blessings.
