Maybe it comes from my teenage obsession with a 440-6 >pack Road >Runner with the black fiberglass hood! ;-) I had a set of Merc 300E steel 15" wheels on my 75 van, with 205/65 Rikens. On this van they interfered with the turning circle, as the rims are offset too far inboard and the tires rubbed on the torsionbar ends when attempting full lock. These will be going onto my 84 Caravelle, where hopefully they won't rub on anything. The wonderful factory Mercedes dull black paint on these wheels is very thin and rusting, and the roads here are not salted.
