I believe that the problem with GL5 is overrated...many vanagons have had that incorrect oil in them for many moons with no obvious problems...I highly recomend the Redline as a permanent oil...anything will work on a temporary basis...I often tell customers that the best possible thing to do is to put a cheaper synthetic in and then change the oil 1000 Mi after a rebuild and THEN put the good stuff in there. Draining the oil when hot of course..Happy motoring Daryl of AA Transaxle Duvall, WA.(Seattle area) (425) 788-4070 1-877-377-0773 toll free http://www.aatransaxle.com (web site) On Sun, 22 Oct 2000 15:14:10 EDT Gary McEachern <glmce@HOTMAIL.COM> writes: > Hello > I just drained the fluid out of a used 4 speed that I'm putting into > my van > and found the local FLAPS don't carry GL4 80 or 80/90 gear oil.
