Hello all,

On monday I bought a 84 Westy after travelling around
in a honda civic for a couple of years.  What a
change!  For one thing, since then the van has been to
the mechanics twice, and is there again :(  Is this
typical or will the problems eventually go away if I
keep pluggin at it?

I've owned three vw bugs in the past and after the
third swore I'd never buy a vw again.  I guess I'm
addicted cause here I am...  At least this time it's
water cooled :)

So I'm getting like 10 mpg.  I think that's a problem.
 Any suggestions?

Any other suggestions or tips for a Westy newbie?
