I have both an '82 westy and a '84 7 seater GL.  The '84 is noticably taller
than the '82.  The '84 engine deck is about 4" higher than the '82.  I
noticed this when I pulled the '82 into the garage to start working on it
after having it sit for about 6 months...

Why is this?  By design due to the poptop? I didn't think there were any
suspension differences in the design?  Maybe I have shot springs/shocks or
something?  Anyone?
