You may remember that my Syncro quit running on me last weekend and it turned out that the ECU was fried. Well, it is now running with a new ECU but it seems to be down on power. It starts and idles fine but lacks power overall. On a hill where I used to be able to hold 60 - 65 mph I now have to have it floored just to get to 50, and it is not smooth - I feel small hesitations. Before the ECU died it was running great, none of the problems I listed above were occurring. Any ideas or things I should check? It has new plug wires, plugs, rotor, cap, air filter and ECU. I don't have a Bentley manual yet (probably next thing on my list) so things to check along with how to check them would be greatly appreciated. On a separate note, what can cause an ECU to go bad? Is there anything I can do to minimize the possibility of that happening again? Thanks! Hans 89 VW Syncro
