Hello all-- I'm in the middle of changing the fuel filter on my '84 Westy and have hit a stumbling block. As it stands now, the old filter (a square plastic filter installed by the previous owner--like those on my old air-cooled vws) is connected between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. My repair manual shows a round metal cannister type filter (what I have now and am trying to install) between the pump and the engine bay. So, first question, on what side of the fuel pump should the filter be installed? But, this leads to another problem. If the filter should be installed between the tank and the pump, then limited space between the tank and the filter require that that short lenght of fuel line make some extreme bends. If the filter should be installed between the pump and the engine, then looks like I'll need to move the pump toward the tank (there are two empty screw holes that seem intended for just this) so as to make room on the other end for the filter. Confusion. If someone can tell me where the filter should be relative to the pump, then I can probobly figure out the rest. Many Thanks, Seth Bruggeman _______________________________________________________ Tired of slow Internet? Get @Home Broadband Internet http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html
