Subject:FS - '85 Westy in SoCal
From:tony moore

hey volks,

wow, it's wierd to hear tales of winter now that this ex-midwesterner lives
in socal! :-) anyway, i need to raise some cash and i'm considering selling
my '85 westy. here are some details:

-california camper, NO RUST ANYWHERE!
-looks and runs great
-4 spd manual
-darker brown metallic, original paint in great, near perfect shape
-interior complete and in great shape, including middle swivel single seat
-sunsail awning included too
-has working ac, hose just replaced and recharged
-just passed ca smog with flying colors
-runs cool and completely leak free

the following work was done within the past year (have receipts):

-new heads (yippee!)
-new clutch
-new cat and muffler
-new brakes
-new tires
-ac repaired and recharged

here are the problems i'm aware of:

-needs new front bushings, has the infamous front end s-q-u-e-e-k :-)
-could probably use a wheel alignment
-the padded part of the dash has dry cracks. the rest of the dash is
perfect, i'm pretty sure chris at jordanvw@aol.com has a replacement.
-the shocks will need replacing within the next year. at least i think so.
-the power steering pump wines a bit. i had it checked out and there are no
signs of fluid leakage, not sure if this is normal for vanagons with power
steering?

anyway, this westy is in great shape and really doesn't need any work. i'm
being very picky when mention the problems above. i don't have any way of
emailing pics, but i could snail some if anyone is really interested. oh,
i'm in burbank (la), ca. if interested, please p-email or call if
interested.

thanks and take care,

tony moore
