If you think you have stuck rings, soak them in MMM, for about a week.
It will smoke like crazy for a little while when you finally start it,
but this remedy does work.
Knew an old Polish guy many years ago that had a 59 Caddy with stuck
rings.
Loaded up the cylinders with MMM, and a week later, he fired it up and
drove to Fla.
No oil consumption on the trip.
Try it anyway.
Might just save you a teardown.
