        Dune buggy enthusiasts employ a sand filter which slips over the
K&N filter to catch the big stuff. Check in most trade magazines like Hot
VWs.
        If it were me I would use hot, soapy water if I ran out of the
K&N cleaner before resorting to gasoline.
