The key code is on all exterior locks on the Vanagon, except gas cap.  The
easiest place to locat the code is the passenger door handle.  Remove the
handle (1 screw under the weatherstrip next to the lock).  With the handle
out, you will find 2 posts on the rear of the lock.  Clean them up and you
will find the 4 digit code.  I offer the original key, a premium plastic
head key, and a generic metal key through my lock shop, and am a recommended
