I wouldn't say they don't know much.
I would say they probably know more about racing competition than longevity
of the engine... or at least focus more of there attention on that aspect.
The operative word for them is performance, not longevity. Knowing racers
I'd say they would be willing to sacrifice longevity in favor of winning.
Winning is the name of their game. And it is with that perspective that K&N
filter was developed.
