Hello All,
Well my van still hiccups (see original post that follows) after new AFM.
Not as much though- but it still does it and esp. pulling up hill. But it
also does it on the freeway just cruising at 60 or 70, but at those times
it is a brief interruption. Other times driving slow and pulling up hill
it's more than brief and boy does it buck, but then picks up again. Never
really ever stalled.
I am at a loss as to what it is. D'ya think the harness fix might help
this?
Why with a new AFM?
Next step- I'll try the ignition switch, it's a cheap easy fix, maybe it
is shorted.
Ken Wilfy mentions it on his site. If any of you have any further
suggestions please let me know. Thanks
Cheers,
Paul

 Symptoms:
 '87 Westy
90,000 miles (drive about 4k a year- not used much-mint)
Original owner (new problem -never happened)
New rotor, cap, wires and installed new fuel filter and 3 cans of gas
treatment (for water absorption) and now new Air Flow Meter.

The van will hiccup or hesitate and lose power momentarily for maybe half
a second, like a hiccup. I watched the tach when it does it and it does
not go down to zero or fluctuate at all maybe when the hesitation is
about a second it may drop one indicator line on the gauge. The frequency
of this happening is now increasing- maybe once every 4 or 5 min.

When it happens: Uphill, cruising and downhill with foot on throttle.

Does not happen: Downhill with foot off throttle, 1st gear or at idle.

Possible areas- let me know what you people think:

 fuel pump relay
 fuel pump
 ignition switch
 distributor pick up (hall?)
 air flow meter
 ECU
