first, thanks to all who answered my question about buying a used westfalia.
i appreciate the information, and you all made good specific points.  it's a
great starting point for our search!

now.  i have looked in a bunch of places on the web, and haven't found
anyone discussing this.  difficult to do?  can i assume i'd get a straight
vanagon, with the engine fine, then a dead westfalia and move everything
over?  seems like drilling holes and cutting the roof out for the poptop
would be the hard parts, at least structurally.  plus getting all the
camping stuff installed properly.  has anyone tried this?  or, with the
exception of getting a syncro and doing it, is it not cost/time effective?
