Hi Robin,
It's been a while since I had an Eberspa"cher installed, but I
think your job is easy. Just unscrew the big bottom pan. The
glow plug is located near the 10cm diam bulge with a black rubber
cap on it (that's the combustion blower). If it's hart to get out
with the heater installed, you could get some more manuevering room
by loosening the screws for the three rubber mounts and let the
whole unit hang from the front and rear ducts.
Good luck and Happy New Year!

boxes. It's a daunting task to put all the pieces together)

Subject: H2 replace glow plug on
diesel Eberspacher Content-Type:
Hello,
I've tried the archives, I know it
must be there, but I can't get at
it...
My Eberspacher diesel heater has been
diagnosed with a faulty glow plug.
I've ordered the plug from VW and can
pick it up tomorrow. As I've never
opened the heater up myself (yet), has
anyone got any hints on how to do
this? Can you leave the heater under
the van and just take off the cover?
Do you need to take it off completely?
Thanks for any help.
