I went out and bought a 17 mm allen wrench, and although it is the proper diameter, the wrench is too physically large to fit t he drain plug because the (stock) 'exhaust pipes are too close. I also unsuccessfully looked into buying a 17 mm allen socket (said the don't have 'em). Does anyone know of something off-the-shelf that I can buy? Otherwise I'm going to have to find someone with a welder to do the tricks mentioned earlier. >I took a bolt with a 17 mm head and welded it into an expendable >half-inch drive socket using high strength welding rod. >You might be able to put a 17 mm nut part way into the plug and turn >it with a socket. > > What size allen wrench is required to remove the filler plug on a > > 4sp manual tranny for an '85 GL? > > thanks __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
