If the idiot lights are still working then the problem is undoubtedly with
the 10v regulator on the flexible circuit.  There is a tech bulletin out
for the '84s that says if the regulator fails, when replacing it add a
diode in series with one of the three legs.  Someone here can point to
where those bulletins are available, I forget....
