Installed a JVC CD player in my 85 GL that I got for Christmas.  For some
reason, the unit overheated and fried.  Replaced with a cheaper Sony that my
son had on had which used the same wiring.  I noticed, it too gets really
warm/hot from time to time.  Any suggestions as to what causes this?
Yesterday I drove for 500 miles, noticed it was getting hot (I removed the
ash tray for ventilation, but it still got really hot), shut it off to let
it cool, then stayed OK only to heat up randomly later.
