Dear List,

I am in France, about to sit down to dinner with a colleague who is having
trouble with her Westy back in Albuquerque. I told her if anyone could help
her out it is you!

Here's the problem: When she first starts out each morning her automatic
transmission refuses to shift into second until she has driven at 10 MPH for
five minutes or more. Then, finally, it thunks into second and functions
normally until the next morning. She has replaced transmission fluid and had
lines bled. Any thoughts?

Also, who's the best VW mechanic in Albuquerque?
