The two wire have the same ends, one wire is black one is white. If I connect one of them to the radio I get FM, and if I connect the other I get AM. I suspect I can connect them together and get both. Has anyone ever seen this? ---------- >From: NotaJeep@aol.com >To: timnew@pacbell.net >Subject: Re: Antenna wires >Date: Mon, Jan 29, 2001, 5:30 PM > > In a message dated 1/29/01 5:49:33 PM Eastern Standard Time, > timnew@PACBELL.NET writes: > > << I've got two wires coming off my Antenna to my radio. >> > One of two things..either you have an odd antenna that doesn't have a > coaxial cable so that one is the antenna and the other is a ground OR you > have an AM/FM-CB antenna...Honestly the antenna for AM/FM is the same...real > diode heads are going to point out that the polarization and orientation of > the two systems is opposite (AM is horizontal and FM is vertical) > But for a car radio? baaa...I'll bet it's the CB lead..you can measure the > resistance to mast from the lead..the "CB: wire will have quite a bit of > resistance as it's got a "loading coil" in there somewhere ..the AM/FM will > be almost a dead short.. > The wires have different ends, no? > > steve > > "Hey! nice Jeep, Mister!
