The answer is no on all counts. But can be done another way.  Just buy an
86-87 Turbo diesel from a Jetta or Quantum, do the works to it before you
drop it in, make it like brand new or better.
THEN, for the same money, you have a decent motor.
Wish I still had my 82 diesel.  Especially in winter, fall and
spring.  Summer without a/c is horrible in the southland.
