We camped outside of Miami toward Homestead in a KOA campground about 3
years ago. It was a clean and quiet place with showers and pool and a
little store. It's far enough from Miami not to be threatening and gave us
a bit of piece of mind at night. I think it was expensive for camping at
about 30 bucks a night. We could not find anywhere closer but its only a 25
minute drive to downtown.
