Try Verners Automotive in Boulder, a Vanagon specialist. I am planning on
using him to do my tiico conversion this year.

Another shop is Wright's German Motor in Wheat Ridge (suburb of Denver). My
'91 Westy has been in his shop (closer than Verners), and I have been
pleased with the work.

Subject: colorado mechanics

Dear List Friends,

I have an old college friend who lives in Estes Park Colorado who has an
87 Westy with a trashed engine. She bought the thing in late November
drove it a few days and the engine went, she said it "ran out of oil".
The used car dealer she bought it from said it would cost her $3,000 to
have the engine rebuilt and he knew a garage that would do it.

Based on her overall description of how this is being handled I'm
concerned. This lady is a single parent with cancer and has her hands
full right now. The Westy is simply her dream / escape machine and I
want to make sure she gets it fixed right and for a fair price. She is
going to get me the name of the garage that is going to "rebuild" the
engine but I was wondering if there are any of you out there who can
recommend some good vanagon mechanics in the Boulder area or near by.

TIA
Bob,
84 westy, das bus
