> Can anyone tell me how to run my fridge (Electrolux) in my Syncro Westy '87? Ahhh.... I've never heard of an Electrolux fridge in the Westy... The only ones I've heard of for the Vanagon Westy are the Dometic brand. > All details welcome, including how long it goes for with how much propoane, The Dometic fridge will run for about 2 weeks on a full propane tank... but it all depends on how high you set the thermostat, how hot the outside temperature is, how much you open the fridge door, how much warm food you put into the fridge, and last, but not least... how much propane you use to cook with. > or on battery etc. depends on what battery you're talking about... the fridge uses about 7.5 amps per hour.... If you don't have an auxiliary battery then the fridge will only run off the battery when the engine is running (the stock set up has a cut off relay that disconnects the fridge fromthe starter battery when the engine stops). If you have an auxilary battery, then just divide the amp hour rating of the battery by 7.5... but that calculation assumes that your battery is fully charged and fresh.... so I would figure on getting less that the calculation will yield... and be careful... if you take your battery to a deep discharge you will either ruin it or greatly reduce it's life. How to start it? Pray :) (seriously... there are tombs written on this in the archives... or maybe there is something at www.vanagon.com) > Also the pipe/tube that takes the water from the outside into the tank is > broken and too short, does anyone know where to get a new Westfalia one > from? In the U.S. you can buy this water fill tubing at any motor home supply store... quite cheep... but if you go to the dealer it will cost way too much. Bill Mail order?
