Gary, I have similar results. I have an 88 GL which is very rigid/stiff in both brakes and clutch while my 90 GL is easy and soft. I don't know why. I found the pressure required to disengage the clutch was quite heavy compared to the clutch on my '90 Westy. I subsequently replaced the clutch and pressure plate with the standard Sachs clutch kit. No change! Is there a reason why the clutch on the '90 is significantly easier to engage ans dis-engage? Has anyone else experienced this? Could the pedal assembly be different on the later models. Lighter spring on the clutch pedal maybe? Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
