Dear David, Actually, my "new" alternator produces 120Amps -- it's the alternator used in my TDI conversion :) MJS -----Original Message----- From: David Beierl [mailto:dbeierl@attglobal.net] Sent: Sunday, March 04, 2001 11:07 PM To: Michael Sullivan Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Subject: Re: electrical experts: what do you think of this? Nice drawing! At first glance, looks very good. You'll need 30-amp fuses on each high-beam circuit, though -- I don't know whether the fuse holders are rated for that or not. If not then you'd want to split each high-beam circuit in two, means running an extra wire out to each headlight cluster. Just to be clear, you're talking about close to 40 amps total for your high-beams -- that's over half your practical alternator output right there (I doubt if it produces as much as 80 amps hot...). I'll look some more later... david At 08:27 PM 3/4/2001, Michael Sullivan wrote: >Dear List, > >I have made up a diagram indicating my latest thinking on how to wire up >my 100/55 watt Cibie 7" round headlights for my South African quad-grill >setup.
