What's the condition of your seal? I also fitted my seal flush with the
casing: horrors of horrors, the flywheel chewed up the seal after only
2500km because the two surfaces were rubbing up against each other.

My new seal I drifted fully into the recess, which gave an extra 2mm of
clearance! So far I have 8000km on the odo and all seems OK.
