Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but...

I have been offered these supposed "Kolbenschmidt" heads before.  I was
skeptical so I did a bit of research when they first cropped up.  And I was
told, by extremely reliable if not infallable sources, that these are the
same old AMC/Marnal heads, repackaged in KS boxes as part of a private-label
distribution arrangement.  Same heads in a new box; nothing more.  In fact,
one salesperson even admitted to me that they he had received some right
from Marnal in KS boxes (or so he said).

It kind of makes sense when you think about it.  If Kolbenschmidt wasn't
even sure they wanted to fix the tooling to continue manufacturing
Wasserboxer engine bearings, because of insufficient demand to justify the
cost of retooling, they sure wouldn't go to the huge expense of tooling up
to manufacture new heads for the very same engine.
