The other connection may be for a voltage suppressor that you may be missing or not equiped with. The suppressor is to handle voltage fluctuations which may damage the diodes. At any rate, having it or not will not hold up your adding the isolator. Ken Hunter 82 Westy 1.9D 84 Jetta 1.5D
