Help!  I am looking for the list as always for good advice.

My 89 Vanagon has developed, this morning on the way to work, a new
(to me) symptom.

It idles fine and once I take off for about 1/2 a mile it misses,
sputter and has no power like its running on 3 cylinders. Then if I
come to a stop it looses the idle and dies.  Once I restart it idles
fine and takes off fine and again looses power and misses.  I did 10
miles on the way to work that way.

I've double checked all the connections and wiring and everything
appears in order.

My DigiTool is on my work bench at home and I will plug it in tonight
when I get home. (should I get home)
