What is best way to free up a sticky distributor advance? Sunday afternoon, I found that the rotor did not have any "spring" to it. I took the rotor off and shot the WD-40 down the center of the shaft. I gotten a big boost in performance, but I am still not there yet. On the vacuum advance, when I pull the hose that goes to the base of the idle adjustment screw, the engine speeds up. Is this normal? When I pull the other hose going to vacuum advance, nothing happens. I got my ancient Heathkit timing light out. Timing appears to be near TDC, and mark "moves" when engine accelerates.
