Fuel system working pressure is a bit under 40 psi between the pump and the fuel regulator; max pressure if the fuel regulator got stuck might be up around 100 psi??? It's metric sized, I believe 7mm ID for most of it. This is higher pressure than most American/Japanese FI systems use, I believe. If it's not specifically rated for gasoline fuel injection systems I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole no matter what the published specs. Coolant working pressure is under 15psi, max pressure if the cap somehow got welded shut could potentially be until something popped...at any rate, this is standard automotive-service hose, nothing weird about it. If they call it automotive heater hose it should be correct material/construction -- not necessarily dimension. Temps -- again, automotive service. Boiling point at 15 psi is something around 250 F I believe. david >I have found a manufacturer of hoses (Parker) that would be a less >expensive source than VW, but I need to know the specs to determine which >type of hose is suitable. > >Incidentally one of the VW hoses that I recently bought was marked "Avon, >England", so everything that goes into a VW is not German.
