I had the same problem.
Where do a guy mount a good pair of 6x9's?

I purchase a pair of Blaupunkt overdrives, and then went to Wal-mart and
purchased a pair of speaker boxes.

I usually leave them on the floor in front of the rear seat, and if I'm
partying, they can be moved up on the rear roof area, for outside
sounds.

Works Good.
