Anyone ever tried to fit a Vanagon trans into a Bug? I've got the idea of building a Bugaru... a Legacy-powered fenderless cut-down CV-jointed Beetle roadster beater such as the two seen in recent VW Trends show coverage. I have a damaged 094 5-speed lying in bits... might be worth throwing some aftermarket gears at it and hanging an Alcyone ER27 flat-6 or a nonturbo Legacy DOHC EJ22 on the end. Maybe, being a very light car, the trans might even be able to handle a turbo EJ.
