When I lived in Memphis my Vanagon was equipped with the standard tail lamps.
 When I complied with the required inspection law I was told be the attendant
that my tail lamps were too dim. I switched to # 1156 tail lamps and have had
no problems. After 7 years I would not go back to the dimmer bulbs.
