Thanks everyone that gave me input on my brake lights,
I put two new switches in and now they are working just fine.  Thanks to Kitz and Pfeil for letting me use the 15/16" socket and extension bar too.  They were nice enough to lend me the tools instead of buying them for four times the cost of the parts.
