That changes to a horizantal discharge tube from the venturi.
It also put the idle jet in a stack up off the floor of the carb.

It adds power and inproves the midrange transition from idle to main.  It
allowed me to go to a smaller main jet, that i had to run to overcome the
hesitation off idle.
